Sport is what most Glomax8K customers test first, and what the servers are sized for.

Sport is the reason most people try Glomax8K, and the hardest job any IPTV service has: millions of viewers pressing play at the same second, on the channels that matter most. Here is how the sports side of Glomax8K is organised and how to get the best picture from it.

Event channels and pay-per-view

For big boxing nights, UFC numbered events and some race weekends, Glomax8K opens dedicated event channels in the Events group. They usually appear a few hours before the main card and disappear afterwards. If you cannot find one, reload the playlist in your app; new channels only show after a refresh.

4K and 8K sport

The main sports networks run 4K versions of their biggest games, and Glomax8K carries those as separate channels marked 4K or UHD. A handful of events are offered in 8K. For 4K plan on 35 Mbps for that screen; for 8K, 50 Mbps and an 8K TV. More in the 8K guide.

Keeping it steady at kick-off

  1. Use Ethernet or 5 GHz Wi-Fi on the TV you watch sport on.
  2. Open the channel five minutes early, not at the whistle.
  3. If it stutters, switch from the 4K to the FHD version of the same channel; it uses half the bandwidth.
  4. If it only freezes on big evenings, switch on the built-in VPN.
  5. Keep a second version of the channel in favourites as a backup.

Time zones and kick-off times

Set your app guide to your own time zone. A 3 p.m. Premier League game shows as 10 a.m. Eastern, and a Sunday 1 p.m. NFL game as 6 p.m. in London.

Test it on a real match night

The fairest test is the free 24-hour trial started around midday on a day with a big game in the evening. Watch a full half on the channel you would actually use.

Next big game? Watch it on Glomax8K.

Every plan includes every sports channel, event channels and catch-up. From $15.

Questions about this

Yes. The USA Sports groups carry the national networks that show NFL and NBA games, plus team and league channels, in HD and often 4K.

Yes. The UK Sports group carries the channels that broadcast Premier League matches, many in 4K.

Event channels for big cards are opened in the Events group a few hours before the event, on every plan, at no extra charge.

About 35 Mbps for that screen, with Ethernet or 5 GHz Wi-Fi. If it stutters, the Full HD version of the same channel needs about half.
